Children's Feet

Caring for little feet of all types

BOOK NOW

Because our children are precious

Our children are precious and each develops in their own unique way. From the moment your child enters the world, the muscles and bones in their feet and legs experience daily changes.

Children’s feet are soft and pliable, making them adaptable to different stages of their growth. Although this means they may be prone to damage from abnormal pressure such as poor fitting shoes, children’s feet respond well to our treatment if problem feet are treated in the early stages of development.

Our team are experienced in caring for little feet of all types – babies and toddlers, crawlers and bum-shufflers, walkers and runners… we provide an approachable, comforting setting for parents or caregivers and their children to receive the best treatment.

The importance of appropriate footwear

Footwear & the function of kid’s feet

Underlying foot problems can arise from injury, deformity, illness or hereditary factors. Inappropriate footwear can aggravate pre-existing conditions or even create new problems of their own. That is why selecting correct footwear is so important. We thoroughly assess footwear to ensure they are purpose fit and encourage natural foot development from early childhood to adolescence.

Poorly fitting footwear

Teens can develop foot problems associated with inappropriate footwear from their childhood years. Signs of poor fitting shoes include blisters, fatigue and ingrown toenails. Shoes should be specific to the feet that wear them. Correct footwear protects the feet from infection, injury, cold and heat, whilst still allowing freedom of movement. Shoes that are too narrow, short or big, can cause injury and even permanent damage.
